LeadStallion is our product, and we have no connection with Apollo. The Apollo details on this page come from Apollo's own website, apollo.io, and its pricing page, as we read them on October 29, 2026. Features and prices change, so check there for the current version.
What Apollo does well
Apollo is a full sales platform. According to its site:
- Its database holds more than 240 million contacts and 30 million companies.
- It covers the whole outreach loop: email with deliverability tools such as domain warming and inbox rotation, a parallel dialer, and a Chrome extension that shows emails and phone numbers while you browse.
- It connects to more than 200 other tools, including CRMs.
- Its AI agents can research accounts, build lists, write outreach, follow up and book meetings.
- There is a free plan with no card needed, and paid plans for heavier use.
Its site speaks to sales reps, sales leaders, marketers and RevOps teams, at companies from small businesses to enterprises. If you sell to other businesses by job title and company profile, Apollo is built for exactly that.
Where local contractor prospecting is different
An agency that sells to HVAC, plumbing and roofing companies is still selling business to business, but the search looks different:
- You are looking for businesses, not job titles. A plumbing company with three trucks has an owner, someone on the phones and a crew. What decides your pitch is the business's Google listing, reviews and website, not its org chart.
- The signals that matter are local. A Google rating and review count, whether there is a website, whether there is a Google profile, whether the license is current. The buying signals on Apollo's homepage are intent, job changes and website visits, which fit a different kind of sale.
- Small contractors can be thin in any business database. Test before you commit: look up ten contractors from your city in both tools and compare what you get.
LeadStallion also takes a different line on people. It never shows owner or licensee names or personal contact details, so you write to the business, not to a person.
How LeadStallion is different
- Contractors only: HVAC, plumbing and roofing, built mostly from state/public license records, in every state listed on our pricing page. The US only.
- Gaps we could confirm: no website, under 10 Google reviews or a rating under 4.0, no Google profile, no Facebook page, each shown only when we confirmed it.
- Ranked: an opportunity score puts the strongest prospects in your market first.
- Outreach written for you: a first email and two follow-ups on every unlocked lead, based on its confirmed gap. You send them yourself.
- Something to hand your clients: Pro and Agency include a white-label market report for one trade and area, with your agency's name on it.

Using both
The two tools do different jobs, so some agencies keep both. LeadStallion finds the contractors and the reason to write; Apollo, or whatever you already send from, handles the sending and the follow-up. Copy a lead's business details and the email written for it into the tool you send from. Whichever tool sends, the US rules for commercial email apply: an honest sender, your postal address and a working opt-out.
Who should stay on Apollo
- You sell to companies with sales, marketing or IT buyers you can find by job title.
- You need sequences, calling and CRM sync in one place.
- You need an export, or you sell outside the US.
LeadStallion is the better fit when your clients are HVAC, plumbing or roofing companies and what you need each morning is a short, ranked list of contractors with a gap you can name. If you are weighing a data tool instead, see our Outscraper alternative page.
